Business Development Manager – Life Sciences | Remote

Preferred locations: Northern California, Southern California, or Mid-Atlantic

A well-established, profitable biospecimen company with more than 20 years in the life sciences space is expanding its commercial team. This is not a traditional biobank sales role. The company specializes in highly customized, prospective sample collections built around specific patient profiles, making this a consultative, science-driven sale that requires both commercial drive and credibility with research-facing customers.

They are seeking a self-directed Business Development Manager to own a territory end to end — from prospecting and relationship development through discovery, feasibility discussions, pricing, quoting, and close. This is a high-autonomy role for someone who knows how to build pipeline, open doors, navigate complex customer conversations, and drive business without a heavy support structure behind them.

If you are a true hunter with experience selling into biotech, pharma, diagnostics, or research-oriented life sciences customers, and can engage credibly with scientific stakeholders, this could be a strong fit. Apply now!

Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Fully remote, with preference for candidates based in:

  • Northern California, ideally the Bay Area
  • Southern California, ideally the San Diego area
  • Mid-Atlantic, ideally the New Jersey / greater pharma-biotech corridor

Compensation: Base salary up to $150K + OTE to $200K + benefits

What They’re Looking For:

  • Strong hunter mindset — this role is heavily focused on net-new business development, with a strong emphasis on self-generated pipeline
  • Full-cycle sales ownership — comfortable managing the process from initial outreach through discovery, feasibility, pricing, quoting, and close
  • Scientific credibility — able to speak confidently with scientific or technical stakeholders through prior lab/research exposure or experience selling into research-facing environments
  • Relevant regional relationships — existing network within biotech, pharma, diagnostics, CROs, or related life sciences organizations in your territory
  • Comfort in a lean, hands-on environment — able to operate independently without a large internal support structure

Preferred Background:

  • 5+ years of full-cycle sales experience
  • Experience in biospecimen, CRO, life sciences services, biological materials, cell sourcing, diagnostics, or other research-facing scientific sales environments
  • Experience supporting complex solution sales, feasibility discussions, or customized project scoping
  • Former researchers, lab professionals, field application specialists, or scientist-facing sellers are welcomed, provided they bring strong commercial drive

U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply. Sponsorship is not available at this time.
