About the role

The Paul Ramsay Foundation (PRF) continues to adopt a systems-thinking approach as we invest in, build, and influence the conditions needed to end disadvantage in Australia. Since 2016, we have supported more than $1 billion in grants and $140 million in impact investments, working with over 200 partners to create lasting change.

We are seeking a Partnership Officer (Identified First Nations Position) to support our grant-making and partnership work across the Foundation, including close collaboration with our First Nations team.

This role is an opportunity for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to bring their cultural knowledge, lived experience, and community perspective into philanthropic work that aims to create long-term, systems-level change.

The role combines administrative, research, and coordination responsibilities with relationship-based work, supporting partners and internal teams to deliver grants that align with PRF’s strategy, values, and commitment to learning and impact.

This role is ideally based in Sydney or Melbourne. However, we strongly encourage applications from First Nation candidates across Australia. We are open to remote working arrangements for the right candidate, recognising the importance of place, community connection, and cultural context in this role.



Description

What you will do

Working as part of project-based teams across the organisation, you will:

  • Conduct research and data analysis to inform potential areas of investment and partnership opportunities, building an understanding of sector trends and landscapes.

  • Support due diligence for grants and assist in preparing high-quality materials for Executive and Board decision-making, including briefings and presentations.

  • Support and, where appropriate, lead the administrative and relationship management of partnerships from establishment through to close, ensuring alignment with PRF’s strategy, learning, and impact goals.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records in PRF’s Grant Management System (Giving Data).

  • Coordinate and support partner collaboration events, meetings, and workshops.

  • Contribute to internal learning and continuous improvement by understanding end-to-end grant processes and sharing effective practices.

  • Support end-to-end learning and evaluation activities in line with PRF’s Measurement, Evaluation and Learning (MERL) approach.

  • Assist with special projects, research, and other ad hoc tasks as required.



Skills And Experiences

About you

You are collaborative, organised, and motivated by contributing to positive social change. You bring:

  • Experience in roles requiring administrative excellence, data entry, data analysis, and problem-solving.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.

  • A high level of attention to detail and enthusiasm for managing accurate administrative and data systems.

  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks with sound judgement.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and communities.

  • Cultural understanding and the ability to engage respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

  • A relevant undergraduate qualification or equivalent practical experience.

  • Alignment with PRF’s values of Courage, Connection, and Curiosity.

Essential:

  • This is an identified position and is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only.

  • Lived experience or experience working in PRF’s areas of interest.

  • Experience working with policymakers, experts, or technical specialists.

  • Exposure to community engagement, non-profit organisations, or social programs.

  • Understanding of (or willingness to learn about) philanthropy, social impact, systems thinking, and grant or program management.
